After 45 years of practice as a psychologist, I have made the difficult decision to retire and am no longer seeing clients. While I will miss my work, I am physically healthy and ready to move into new chapters in my life.
If you are a former client in need of records or referral assistance, please email me at rwall@charlottepsychotherapy.com or call and leave a message at 704-364-0452 x4. In accordance with state guidelines, your records will be securely kept for 7 years after our last contact.

Randy Wall, Ph. D - Licensed Psychologist
Dr. Randy Wall has over 30 years of experience providing psychological services to children, adolescents and adult men. Services include individual, group and family therapy.
Born and raised in Port Washington (Long Island) New York, Dr. Wall graduated cum laude and with distinction in psychology from Duke University in 1975. He obtained his Ph.D. in School Psychology with an emphasis in clinical child psychology from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1982. Training included a clinical child psychology internship at Child and Family Services in Hartford, Connecticut 1979-80.
Dr. Wall came to Charlotte in 1982 where he worked with the Child-Adolescent Outpatient Unit at Mecklenburg Mental Health Center. He is one of the founding partners of Charlotte Psychotherapy and Consultation Group which formed in 1985.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Wall has served as an Adjunct Professor of Psychology at Queens University of Charlotte where he taught Abnormal Psychology and The Psychology of Men.
In addition to providing clinical services, Dr. Wall has been involved in a number of community initiatives. He served on the Board of Directors of the Council for Children (now Council for Children’s Rights) from 1992-2004 and served as President of the Board in 1997. Dr. Wall was also a “founding father” of the Charlotte Fatherhood Initiative in the late l990’s, served on the North Carolina Governor’s Commission on Responsible Fatherhood from 1999-2000, and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Life Connections, a mentoring program for at risk youth and their families He has spoken extensively on the role of fathers in children’s lives. Dr. Wall is an avid baseball fan, having coached Little League and also played adult baseball in Charlotte for 25 years.
Men’s issues are an area of interest and expertise. Problems are addressed individually and/or in group therapy and include relationship issues, especially problems with intimacy; anxiety; depression; stress and anger management; fathering and sexuality.
Dr. Wall is married and the father of two young adult children. He enjoys staying fit and trying to improve his woeful golf game.
